If you've found your way here, you may already know that my name is Bill and I enjoy writing songs about God. If you did not know that, well now you do. I hope to be faithful with the songs I write. I'm not sure I know how to do that, but I think this website is a start. It contains the lyrics, chord charts, mp3's, even the stories behind the songs. And it is all free to you. So look around. Enjoy. And thanks for stopping by.

Altogether Glorious

download chord chart // download mp3

(verse 1)
O Brilliant Sight, heaven’s bright Light
More than our vision can bear
So beautiful, so powerful
So far beyond compare

(pre-chorus 1)
The Focus of all heaven’s praise
We join their chorus and proclaim…

(chorus)
Christ is glorious, altogether glorious
There’s beauty and fear, for Your glory’s here
Your glory’s here

(verse 2)
And then one day, the clouds will break
And the sky will open wide
Our King triumphant, cloaked in majesty
Will conquer darkness with blinding light

(pre-chorus 2)
All creation will bow down
All mankind will cry aloud

-------------------------------------------------------

A few years ago I had the idea of recording a CD called "Christ Hymns"; a collection of songs specifically about Jesus, the man of Nazareth and the second Person of the Trinity. The project never actually came to fruition, but a number of the songs remain to be some of my favorites.

This song was written as a part of that project. It speaks of the glory and splendor of Christ, post-ascension, as He sits enthroned in heaven.

When you look at the scriptures, every time heaven is mentioned...every angel and heavenly host is always encircled around the throne of Christ singing His praise. All of heaven is obsessed with Jesus. He not only dwells there, He is enthroned there. He is the center of every moment in heaven. And His pleasure and glory are the sole motivation for every movement of heaven.

I believe the same should be true of our hearts; that Christ would not only dwell in us, but be enthroned in us; that His presence would not only bring beauty, but fear and reverence and awe. For this man, Jesus, is the Christ, the altogether glorious Creator of heaven and earth.
